Getting started on the awards and my next cab project. I'll post pics here as I move along with creating the awards.

I'm getting some Flame agate ready for the people's choice since that's in the lead. You can also see the Cacoxenite in Ametrine and Priday Plume. I have a few other pieces there I want to cut with this batch.

No matter what material comes out on top, the recipient should be well pleased. Great stuff.

Hey Dan, is that some of your newer flame agate from one of the last shows? Looks like it, I had fun digging through that bin! I had already purchased a bunch that day so I just bought one small slab.

Great looking materials.

Yep, I got this at the Portland Regional in September. It was the first dealer I visited and I picked up a few of his thicker slabs.

Got the sawing and some of the preforms done today. I'm doing a large batch as usual, but I've got the Priday Plume, Cacoxenite in Ametrine and Flame agate just about ready to cab. I'll get some better pis once the pre-forms are all done.

I got all the pre-forms done tonight. I can't decide which side to use for the front of the Priday cab..better sleep on it.

Looking good Dan! That first pic of the Priday plume looks like it is the best to me, but it's difficult to tell in a photo if the plumes are so close to the surface that you would lose them when contouring the cab. I'm sure it's going to look great whichever way you go.

Dan, Those cabs are all definitely BEAUTIES! I hope you post them in "Creating Cabochons" so more people can see them. Beautiful eye candy! I'm sure others that haven't been reading this competition thread would want to see them too! Thanks for all your work on this competition and for creating these beautiful award cabs.
