Am going to Lost Wages for the weekend (family retirement party). I hope to escape for a while to do some rock hounding if there's any there. Can anyone give me advice or directions?

I'm back and can answer my own question now. I found some agates near the resort we stayed at (World Mark by Wyndom) on South Las Vegas blvd. I looked for empty lots with creosote bushes and rocks, poked around and then found what I call mudrocks. Mudrocks look like a round ball of mud but they're dry rocks. When I found those I kept looking and found a few agates. Not like collecting in my old stomping grounds in Las Cruces but a fix that was better than nothing. I recommend to others that you should go find an empty lot that has rocks and give it a try.

That was my only good luck there!! Glad to be home.

The weather has been so funky here that it wouldn't have been enjoyable anyway. We've been getting on and off rain for the past week, and when it isn't raining it's 100+ degrees and humid. Nasty.

Just today, I got some information about a guy living in Pahrump who has a helicopter. I'm going to attempt to track him down to see about the possibility of moving some major quantity of Chrysocolla off of the mountain, depending on his weight limit and what he'd charge. There's an area perfect for landing a helicopter right up close to the peak. I'd have to mine and sort the material ahead of time, so it would be ready to load, but that's the easy part compared to packing it down the mountain LOL.
