Terrible story out of Texas today. An Army psychiatrist has killed or injured 42 people in a shooting incident yesterday. This soldier was apparantly about to be shipped to Afghanistan and snapped. It was probably not a moment of passion but a planned deed.

My prayers and thoughts are with everyone affected by this horrible incident

Terrible indeed. I just don't understand these types of actions. Mental illness manifests in so many different ways.

I agree, Charlie. Prayers to Texas. The families will need them.

And here come the copycats: http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/11/06/orlando.shootings/index.html

Let's pray this is the end, but probably not.

This was a terrible deed and carried out by someone trusted. My heart and prayers go out to all those injured and the families of those that lost their lives!

Read all the news in regard to this incident. It was NOT a mental illness incident, it was religious. The man is Muslim, and anti American. The Army was quite well aware of his religious/political views, but did not act upon this because of """profiling"""plus, the Army is short of both psychiatrists, and field rank officers. He did not want to go to Irac/Afganistan because to his way of thinking supporting the United states would be aiding the enemy. This is what really makes this disturbing.
