As always that's a beautify looking batch. I love the variety! I have some blue lace as well (some that I bought a while ago and some from an exchange with dillonf ). I have been concerned about tumbling it but seeing yours I'm excited to chuck it into the barrel during the next cleanout. Did that blue lace lose a lot of mass during the tumble, do you think? Thanks! For that blue lace agate, I didn't keep track of its original size and weight, but from the look of how it rounds up after a week of tumbling, I feel it is not significantly different from the other agates with regards to tumbling? I will also acquire more if it ends up well. It seems decent size meaty (not druzy) pieces could be quite expensive though.

Just washed a batch from the 120/220 run. Took this Gobi Eye Agate out for a picture: When I got this agate, the green eye looked quite "rotten" so I used the cabber to grind the eye to form a smooth surface. It seems it still has too many internal fractures that go all the way to the bottom of that thin green layer. Still fun to look at. I probably won't go further with it into 500 and polish. The green eye part is softer, the glossier the agate part will become, the duller the green part will look in comparison.

My most recent batch after polish ended up all dull, even for the easiest agates, for the first time since I developed this hobby. They look duller than after the 120/220 run and the same batch were almost as shiny as I would be satisfied with after the 500 pre-polish. My theory is the water I added to the bowl during polish might be contaminated.
I will give this batch another polish with everything thoroughly washed. If it still doesn't work I will go back to 120/220.

The colors in those are really nice, and the polish great. Did you self collect them ? I don't think I've seen them for sale anywhere.

That looks like a fun batch to oogle over. The blue to tan ones really catch me eye though. Thanks for showing them off

The colors on those are so serene, I love them. They sound like challenging rocks to work on though!

My self-collects are at best those tiny CA Oil Agates . I purchased them online, some of which I picked by piece. That looks like a fun batch to oogle over. The blue to tan ones really catch me eye though. Thanks for showing them off Thanks! I had to break that blue to tan one into two pieces along the deep fracture. The colors on those are so serene, I love them. They sound like challenging rocks to work on though! Thanks. They are still so much easier to tumble than the Porcelain Jasper.

A beautiful piece of San Carlos Agate. Each piece I got from the tumbling rough (https://www.riverbendlapidary.com/sancarlos/index.html) is quite nice. Different colors and patterns. I preformed it to make an oval palm stone. I did a shabby job LOL. Front Back Love the yellow mosses! The "scratch marks" were Vaseline from my fingers. The agate itself is so nicely polished.

Great looking tumbles! The Gobi jaspers are Killer. Every one of them is unique. Your shaping and polish are perfect in my book. Are you still working on some of the Gobi eye agates?
Thanks for sharing your work. It’s very impressive.

Thanks for sharing your work. It’s very impressive. Thanks. Yeah I am still working on the Gobi Eye agates. The "Gold Coin" eye agates always have a very thin earth-yellow layer with eyes, so it is tricky to tumble to a point that the eyes are revealed and the ugly white unpolishable layer beneath the earth-yellow layer is not shown. From my current experience going anywhere beyond 120/220 probably makes them look worse. I would guess if I start a dedicated batch with these agates only, and tumble with more cushion, and stay in 120/220 for a extended period of time, like 7 days, the result might make some difference. I also have some big junky pieces in step 1 for weeks. They still look like century eggs with mud on the shells, and by breaking one piece, the internal is not looking very different either. I need to determine when to abandon them...

It is almost fracture free. It reminded me of the Cotton Candy Agates. I remembered you once made an adorable Cotton Candy Agate cab.
