It looks like sore thumbs for a couple days. I was running low on medium agates for tumbler feed. An hour or so at the 8” saw and voilá. There’s an old gold pan I throw rocks in to be sawed. It holds enough for 1-2 hours of sawing. The mix is Swazi agate, Alimajo agate, Botswana agate and a couple Lakers. There were a couple wedge shaped slabs in the gold pan too. They were blackskin agate and Brazillian agate. Bucket in shade. with a little sun spread out and mixed around once. I didn’t weigh it. My guess would be 6-7 pounds. Hopefully they keep cleanouts interesting for a while.

Very nice looking rocks! I used to dislike the look of saw cut tumbles, but they have grown on me. They make it easy to see the nice patterns and make for good macro photography specimens. Small slabs and pieces can turn out very nicely.

velodromed They are mini slabs, mostly kind of wedge shaped. They range from pea size to silver dollar size more or less. There are probably a few I’ll put aside for cabs but mostly they’re going in the tumbler as replacement for what moves on to stage two.

YUMMY! That's the word that comes to mind whenever I see any of your tumbles...or "tumbles to be"!

The last two look like Berber. I agree the first photos look like Swazi on the inside.

YUMMY! That's the word that comes to mind whenever I see any of your tumbles...or "tumbles to be"! Thanks Jason. It was a fun pile to cut up. I kind of knew they were going to be good (I’ve been cherry picking them out of regular tumbler rocks for a while). There were only a couple hollow culls in the pile. There are a couple pieces of teepee you sent in there. I can see one in the photos but can’t pick out the other. I never know what to expect with teepee. The nicest surprise was some of the Alimajos. They have nice reds and yellows.

I’ve been trying to predict where the fortifications are at then cut at the edge of the pattern. The two I worked on today look good. I’ll look for the other one. With two 12 pounders to clean out in the next couple days, a lot of them will be rolling soon.

jasoninsdHere’s that other teepee. I forgot I took it out of the tumbler feed bucket. It’s pretty cool and I’m proud I got it to this stage. A fair amount of time and thought have gone into this one.

I'll be excited to see that one as a finished tumble my friend!!

One way or another some teepee is going to get finished. Here are some of the others. One has some yellow but it’s awfully thin.

Here are a few more ready for the tumblers. These were sawed yesterday. Sawed up Brazillian slab. Bots Swali /Swazi/Mozambique agate. You guys aren’t going to believe this. I finished up sawing the Alimajos. Some of them have soft spots. Some of them are a hollow waste of time but holy mackerel are they photogenic. Total amount sawed is just under 12 lbs. I’ll pick some out for cabs. Most will go in the tumblers. Thanks for looking.

The Alimajos are super nice! Thanks. I already threw a few in one of the tumblers. I’ve had mixed results with them. Often the clear centers are softish. The clear and colored agate on the outside is pretty solid.
