Howdy all. Found this one near Avenal, Ca. Thinking some kind of Green Jasper? Its about 11/2 lbs. little larger than a fist. Thanks

What does it look like dry? It looks a little like turquoise. The fracture in the lower edge does look like jasper though.

Here it is dry. Makes it look a little more grey. But still distinctly green.

Tried the nail. It left a metallic streak that easily rubbed off. But the rock doesn't appear to have been scratched.

I'm always picking up green rocks because the colors are so spectacular, I'm hoping for jade or jasper, etc. Sad to say, they rarely polish.

Can you get a picture of it Doc, I don't think this piece looks transluscent enough to be Chrysoprase (described as an apple-green or green variety of chalcedony used as a gemstone).

Its a very pretty rock no matter what the name.
