I’ve got some bots like that. They’re pretty unusual. I hand picked quite a few at TRS several years ago. It seems like I got some similar rocks at that time. Nice! Thanks for letting me know.

Nice looking rocks! What are Rainbow Agates? They look exactly like Bahia Agates (which I love) to me. Possibly the same thing by a different name? I’ve only seen them at Richardson ranch. Some do look just like Bahias but many are their own crazy thing compared to all the Bahias I’ve seen. I’ll post some more of those next clean out. **maybe they are the same thing or a close cousin? I love them and plan on getting 10lbs next time I order from there ($4lb).

Really nice specimens! I've come across a few bots that look like that first one. Those rainbows are very cool- in your first post my first thought was wow that looks a lot like a Bahai. The colors in your rainbow agates are more striking than the Bahai I've tumble though - for sure. Some look exactly like Bahias but most are quite different with quartz pockets, agate banding, unusual features and weird coral like things in clear chalcedony (like the one at the beginning). It’s a cool rock, easy to tumble since they are already roundish, seems fairly tough and are a good size for giving away lol. I’m getting 10lbs next time I order it from there.

I went through ‘son of a beach’s’ post on the Bahia agate run he’s doing (which are quite a bit different from Bahias I’ve gotten in the past), and you’re right, there definite similarities. But there’s also a lot of differences to where I do not think they are the same Rock. They could be from the same region or mines from the same area. Kind of like how serepe Jasper is close to areas where they get crazy lace.

The Rainbow agates are actually Bahia agate. I'm not sure why Richardson's calls them Rainbow other than their supplier may call them that. They sell them as "Brazilian" Rainbow agates at Richardson's and Bahia is in Brazil. I've tumbled a bit of Bahia and also picked up another 10 lbs of them when I was at Richardson's this past summer (they're the same). Regardless of what they call them, Bahia is a fantastic rock to tumble!

I will say that I like the quality of the ones I’ve gotten from Richardson ranch very much so far, compared to other sources. I have a couple nearly the size of chicken eggs tumbling now that look really interesting. I haven’t gotten any from the rock Shed yet though.

I also got some really large ones. I'm looking forward to heading back over for more stock later this year.
