The slabs are great and the rock is better but I really love the saw! Give up on it Dave! It can't be fixed at all. Just load it it the trailer next time you come this way, I'll dispose of it properly!

That must be one of those bigguns' you picked up on your road trip! How long does it take to get through that sucker??? And what'cha gonna do with the slabs. Do you have a new lamp in mind or some chimes??? Steve

Well, that boulder did come from the road trip --middle of kansas but I will say that it is a little bigger than the "max" for the 18" if you leave the feed tension loose so the blade will turn freely then it doesn't feed the rock --a 1/4 turn more and it feeds so much that the blade gets slowed down and throws the breaker--- is prob about 7" on the curve of the blade that is going thu the rock-----------maybe a new blade with extra sharp little diamonds would help ----or maybe Joe could bring that big new saw (24"--that's to big for his garage) and he could trade me for this one--- since this one is around 45 years old it has alot of wear on parts that you can't even see ---if Joe doesn't get here by midnight and pick this up, I guess, I will try to baby it along some more ----just have to use smaller rocks I was hoping to get enough slabs from this one rock to make a lamp shade out of them ---- 1 rock==1 shade --- but may have to change my thinking ----and then I don't have them polished yet either --- may need a bigger tumbler too!!

Hmm, I'd have to put my 10'' saw in front of that "Magic Mirror" of another infamous thread to see it as a 24'' model. Well, I guess you better pop that switch cover off and have a look! Gotta be a reason why it's smokin'.

Neat lookin slabs. That will make an impressive lamp shade. Too bad your saw started complaining. Hope you get it bak up and sawing soon. Can't wait to see the lamp shade. Oh and that is a very impressive boulder too.

yea i just had the wires melt off my on off switch and i sent my motor back and there gonna send me a new one maybe the motor is weak --- i was havin alot of probs with the blade slowin down and stoppin in the middle of a cut it would trip the reset on the motor and even on smaller rocks say 4x4 -- so ya might wanna look into a bigger motor i just put a 3/4 horse on mine till i get a replace ment and its cuttin anything i throw at it even if i max the vise it still slides right on through
