Help! I tumbled some Labradorite and all was just great up to the polishing stage. After polishing, the stones were all pitted with white edges. I was careful, I thought, to remove all grit from the barrel and did use a soft toothbrush on the stones even though they looked clean and smooth prior to the polishing step. Is this just the nature of the stone? I did use new plastic pellets and an aluminum oxide polishing medium. Any advice? I'm new at this.

I have no idea why they would have become pitted but it sounds like they have polish stuck in the pits. You might try running them with just some borax or a few slivers of ivory bar soap to see it that cleans them up.

i really don't know but i was wondering if you had other type stones in with them in the polish?
