Wow, Toad, you tumble like a grizzled old pro, hard to believe that's your first batch! Killer job on the tiger eye -- I did some years ago and thought it was kind of ho-hum. I think seeing the killer shine you put on it will inspire me to dig up those old pieces and try running them again.
Very nice job on the corundum. That stuff has moh's hardeness of 9, almost the same as silicon carbide grit, at around 9.3. So to shape and shine the corundum, well, no wonder it took 2 years! ;D Usually sellers try to sell corundum as either sapphire or ruby, so it's interesting that you actually bought it as rough corundum.
Ace job, -Don

It took two years for a couple reasons. Shutting down for winter and not getting a vibe until this spring. Another couple lortones will help speed things up. I have nothing to go in my vibe now. Waaahhhhhhh!
I probably did buy the corundum as ruby rough from someone, but that was years ago. And no sense calling it a ruby if you can't see through it.

I hope mine come out that shiney . I have a batch in polish and it will come out on Saturday. Nice mix of material; great to see how it all looks all shined up. Thanx for posting.
