darkdude: would it be possible to polish sandstone using a dremel?
Dec 12, 2013 9:25:19 GMT -5
roy: never tried to polish sandstone could tell ya
Dec 12, 2013 10:12:30 GMT -5
herchenx: darkdude not likely, although I am constantly amazed at what folks manage to do... Any sandstone I've seen crumbles and is too porous to shine, but maybe if you have some that is very dense and has been saturated with silica it might?
Dec 12, 2013 15:21:38 GMT -5
darkdude: well this sandstone doesnt seem to absorb water any faster than normal stone, it took about 5 seconds of sawing with stainless steel scissors to cut it, so it seems quite strong its just so pretty being blood red and yellow lol i have to try it.
Dec 12, 2013 18:18:46 GMT -5
darkdude: if it works it looks so good with blood red and yellow, no one seems to have seen it before it would be good. im going to go at it with a fine grade bit, and on a slow speed, and just do it any times, slowely rather than fast

darkdude: i think the olive green stone might be olive jade it looks similar to the beach rolled stone photos on the net
