That is VERY cool! What do you think you're going to do with it?

Beautiful! I'd polish it as it is and keep it as a display specimen. Maybe a slab could give some cool cabs, too.

My wife says I'm a hunk, but I'm not as pretty as that one!
That's a toughie -- whether to leave it in one piece or cut. I've sold myself to cutting coral against the "grain" and getting cab-able slabs that show the polyps' septa like in your second pic.

A really cool pattern in that. I take it you found it in WV. If this stuff is common I may have to make the 6 hour trip one of these days.

I collected some last year. I only slabbed one fist sized nodule so far. I cut two cab blanks out of the best slab. I ground pendant stones from each. I gave one to Jamie in AZ: (click for ful size)

Some farmers push it to the edge of fields, and some quarries try to avoid putting it into their crushers. I have heard of several sites, but only visited one: Here are the directions I followed: www.rockhounds.com/rocknet/archive/messages/44822.shtml

More of a slightly yellowish tan. Most of the nodules are blue-gray, but this one had a bit of tan. I prefer th eblue, but this piece had the most solid agate.
