I found a new way to search on mindat.org so I did up searches for Canada. A lot or maybe even most of these could be commercial or no access, I'm really not sure. I have been to a few of these spots though so not all are. in any case its the best lists for Canada that I have seen. Thought you guys might be interested. I also stuck on the USA links I had. This way you can have the full North America list. Once again though I have no idea what all you can or can't access but have been to some spots. Enjoy ;D. Feel free to share any list you might have. Don't know why the Canada links don't work but if you copy/paste in the whole line with the ,%20Canada in your navigation bar it will work. Maybe a moderator or someone has a fix? **** Found a fix added the tinyurl.com/ links so you don't have to copy paste

I just read through the entries for Oregon in the link, they misspell quite a few place names, and the entries are very sparse for areas that are well-known today for their goodies.

Well, you can only really count-on internet information as clues and possibilities when it comes to hounding. In particular, Google Earth can be very misleading, and often dead wrong. It's great for some stuff in general, but don't bank on it's specifics, especially for help planning a rockhounding expedition.
Don't make the mistake of calling a BLM for any information, either. They hate rockhounds, and it seems that they get their jollies by giving us misinformation.

I can't wait to have the time he has to devote to rocks. I haven't done a thing in a month, and it's driving me nuts. I was looking at the information for Saskatchewan. The sites mentioned are mostly mines, which you can't get to. Why don't they have sites you can actually collect at?

Careful using some of this info, as it is dated. For example under Ontario, Canada it mentions Bear Lake Diggings. Great spot, now closed to the public (sold/private ownership). I would assume the same will happen other places too.
