"But Mark, the taxes might go for better things such as better roads, better city streets less toll roads and things of that nature. Maybe it could go into research for a renewable fuel source or even go for curing cancer. I know, I'm only dreaming.. I'll just go live in the woods somewhere and be a hermit. That way I won't have to deal with it all. No that won't work either, big brother would still find me and bust me for killing to many deer or not having the right permit for something".
Hmmm - Edog, are you saying that you are ruled into the ground - so much so you cant even hunt?
How has it got to that stage???
Do you feel that you are "free" there and yet "arent" somehow?
Me too - its the same in the uk.

Yes sir, thats it in a nutshell. You can hunt, but you better not go over your bag limit. Here in Wisconsin when you sign the back of the hunting license that gives the DNR the right to come knock on your door at anytime of the day or night and look into your freezer or whereever they want to see how much game you have. If the bag limit on raccoons is a total of 5 you better not have 6. If you have 5 for the total, and you shoot 2 more, you better eat 2 right away. Here they are talking about taking your guns, your car, $1,900 fine and no hunting for 5 years.

Yeah, but Sands - in NM you have to register and draw for the game hunts. You can't just go wherever, whenever, whatever. If you want to hunt Unit 34, you better put that in as your first choice and hope they draw your name for it. Last year, we pulled for our first choice in elk and fourth choice in deer (they choose the time & place in SW NM) and ended up with a real mountain man's hunt for deer. We were limited to open-sight muzzleloaders that weren't inline and used loose powder. Couldn't use sabots or belted...yup, patches, measuring powder. The area was basically inaccessible by road. We had permission to drive 4-wheelers to the camp site, but then had to hoof it. So yeah. You can have a gun. You can shoot a hill. Just don't shoot an animal unless the Game & Fish Department have told you you could.

Sands, whats really funny here in Wisconsin is that a few years ago they made it ok for a legally blind person to deer hunt with shotgun or rifle! As long as you have a spotter with you.

how is a blind guy gonna site a deer -- they should glue antlers on the fool that passed that law and let all the blind guys take shots at him hahaha
they told me that i could take a friend with me to tote and load the animal and i would be givin permission to enter land no one else would be able to ( i think that was how they said it)and if i couldent walk far i could shoot right from the truck or what ever was easyer-- it actually sounded alittle too easy haha-- but i guess for someone worse off then me it would be the dif of not bein able to go

My Dad and his crew set up this phony deer on the side of the road to catch people that will take shots at it from their vehicle as they are driving by, 100s of people shoot at that deer, you should see it...........The antlers are barely hanging on, the whole head is totally crooked, 1 leg is on backwards and people still shoot at the stupid thing, only to get stopped up around the corner for wreckless endangerment and discharging a firearm froma vehicle, ect, ect. I'm not saying that setting a trap like that is a fair thing to do, but you should see that deer..........its comical.

Sands - yeah, they have special hunts set up for under 18 and disabled. They're usually choice areas loaded with game generally before the rest of the state descends on the animals with weapons.
Poaching or attempted poaching is serious business in NM, and they include waste of game as poaching. You shoot an animal, take its head and leave the meat...you're poaching whether you have a license and shot it legally or not. Smallest fine for standard game is $2000, largest fine is $50,000. It depends on what the state values the cost of the animal...and the state tends to overvalue animals.

hell if i go through the trouble of hunting a deer im gonna eatum haha i love deer meat havent had any in about 8 years -- iv eatin the deer burgers and i gotta say loved it and anything else was even better -- steaks, roast -- i dont see anything wrong with hunting as long as you eat what you kill i usta watch guys at my dock in capemay go out load up on fish come back and stand around lookin at it in the sun drinkin beer till it was no good and throw it in the dumpster, thats one of the reasons i never complaind about the limits they put on how many fish you could take at least guys like that could only kill so many for no reason, i always cleaned and ate everything i killed and if i had a good day i would take a few packs of filets over to the nice widow lady that lived alone across the street

Roxy, you should have mule deer if nothing else. We had deer, antelope, big horn sheep, oryx, and elk as the big game in New Mexico.
Granted, New Mexico was also the first place I ever met anyone that were rabid pidgeon hunters. The amount of work to eat a pidgeon, and the amount of pidgeons necessary for a meal, just amazed me. Not something I would choose to hunt, that's for sure.

There should be deer, antelope, elk, and big horn sheep in AZ as well.
Just before Christmas I was at the Grand Canyon and I saw antelope, deer and elk. And I've seen big horn around Las Vegas here, so I'm pretty sure they're in AZ.

Oh.. well not that I hunt or anything... lol.. But I did get to go once... funny not sure why he insisted on taking me but knew this guy who took me hunting and well First let me just say in my defense.. I didn't know cows could climb Huge hills.. In trees and stuff.. being from the city only time I seen cows was on Tv in a barn... on a flat field.. so.. You can imagine how that hunt went.. LOL.... anyways.. I just wanted to know.. cuz I'd be able to Look for anyone Selling Deer meat.. Or even Better.. Dried Deer meat.. .. not sure if anyone knows what that is.. But it's best! sorta like Jerky.. but it's not baked or cooked yet.. .
Anyways.. thanks for telling me.. I'll have to keep an eye out for it now.. didn't know there would be any around here..and I'd be stuck eating dried Lizard or something..

Hey Randy... lol honestly being here... I wouldn't put it past these Arizona people.. cuz I just don't see how they survive .. Animals that is.. there is no grass.. or real trees.. and how they live in the Heat.. I will never know.. so I figured the only thing able to live here is, scorpians, snakes , and lizards..I seen a frog (I hate frogs) they scare me.. But there's down here Look like your pet Lizard.. or aligator .. whatever it is.. .. lol
Hmmm .. wonder how he'd taste.. LOL
