I will post dates for July after this weekend's dig is over with. I am juggling a lot of field trips to my other collecting areas , and also doing some gem shows so it is hard for me to plan too far ahead. I have a webpage that lists all of the upcoming events , and you can check it out and maybe bookmark it as I keep it fresh and entertaining : www.digforcrystals.com/Hogg_dig_dates.html Keith dug beside me in a spot that I recommended and he did find some super nice gem grade carnelian. I was hoping he would send me some pictures

Yeah, At some point this week I'll post some for sale. These will be a little price because not only are they rare for this side of the USA , we are under extreme conditions to get them. We have to literally climb the mountain on foot. It is 94 degrees and high humidity on top of it. This time of year the ticks are bad and keith ( KAP ) killed a monster rattle snake 2 weeks ago. Accessing the site is something anyone of average health can do , but it is not easy.
I gotta tell ya , I love this agate. The pictures prolly dont actually portray that this is gemmy glassy translucent agate with vivid colors and interesting inclusions.
Here is my haul from Friday/Saturday of this weekend:

Hi Ozzy, So far I have managed to make a living with rocks , either thru my guided trips or on ebay. But ebay has went from a high volume for me and a decent living , to , uh .......................no sales at all. So right now trading is out because i really need to sell some stuff. I will send you a pm shortly though................. I'll make a listing for one big good piece of this carnelian for sale later today.

snowmom: Good morning! 50 degrees here with the wind from the NW, leaves rustling and it makes me restless... the rocky beaches will be in full song this morning. Think I'll take my camera and take some pics this morning for show and tell. what are you all up to?

wampidy: Sitting in my underwear in front of the computer drinking cappuccino and eating brown sugar and cinnamon pop tarts. A mental image you probably could have went without but you asked. Want to go hounding, all gassed up but I gotta buy some new tires for my

wampidy: pickup before I go running around in the hills. One of my goodest tires has a bulge and all the tread is worn off of it in that spot. Tells me that I probably should have replaced it a long time ago but it is just a little wup wup.

snowmom: LOL, I did ask.. I'll be more careful next time! I expect hounding out there is a terror on tires- all those sharp rocks...

drocknut: Snowmom at least he didn't say he was naked...;)

rockpickerforever: Diane, if he said he was sitting in his underwear, most would understand that he is not naked. What's wrong with naked, anyway? ...Unless that's your laptop sitting in his lap, ho ho!

rockpickerforever: Ouch! Ha ha, gotta at least wear some leather chaps! How're you dune, Ed, out in that furnace they call Phoenix? Grinding and sweating? Mostly? You do what it takes...

wampidy: There was not one of the tires on my pickup good enough to replace my raggedy spare. Just went ahead and bought all four. As bad as the front tires were it is a wonder I am not laying in a ditch somewhere between here and Quartzsite.
Jul 29, 2014 23:23:50 GMT -5
wampidy: Sure drives nice now except for the wandering. Replaced the steering ball joints before I left for Q and they already have a bunch of slop in them. Must have been a tad bit of stress there on the trip.

snowmom: we just got new tires too.. must be the season... or maybe the places we go? Yes,a blessing... the difference is amazing, and the car actually stays on the road in the rain now...

glennz01: Anyone here ever seen or have Blizzard Stone?
Jul 30, 2014 20:47:51 GMT -5
Stone Whisper: Fossil.. New Tires maybe on the way.. but first I have to get these new shocks ready.. The eye/loops were not coated very well, Thus I was forced to repaint. Besides I best get down there now and put the last set of bushings in them.
