I will post dates for July after this weekend's dig is over with. I am juggling a lot of field trips to my other collecting areas , and also doing some gem shows so it is hard for me to plan too far ahead. I have a webpage that lists all of the upcoming events , and you can check it out and maybe bookmark it as I keep it fresh and entertaining : www.digforcrystals.com/Hogg_dig_dates.html Keith dug beside me in a spot that I recommended and he did find some super nice gem grade carnelian. I was hoping he would send me some pictures

Yeah, At some point this week I'll post some for sale. These will be a little price because not only are they rare for this side of the USA , we are under extreme conditions to get them. We have to literally climb the mountain on foot. It is 94 degrees and high humidity on top of it. This time of year the ticks are bad and keith ( KAP ) killed a monster rattle snake 2 weeks ago. Accessing the site is something anyone of average health can do , but it is not easy.
I gotta tell ya , I love this agate. The pictures prolly dont actually portray that this is gemmy glassy translucent agate with vivid colors and interesting inclusions.
Here is my haul from Friday/Saturday of this weekend:

Hi Ozzy, So far I have managed to make a living with rocks , either thru my guided trips or on ebay. But ebay has went from a high volume for me and a decent living , to , uh .......................no sales at all. So right now trading is out because i really need to sell some stuff. I will send you a pm shortly though................. I'll make a listing for one big good piece of this carnelian for sale later today.

drocknut: Good thing I don't know that one Jean, guess it was before my time How about "Don't Rock the Jukebox?" oh crap now I can't remember who sang that one. Must be getting old but still not as old as some people...lol
Mar 15, 2014 13:39:12 GMT -5
mr.mohs: 'Don't Rock the Jukebox' was sung by the Slanted Girdles
Mar 15, 2014 13:49:49 GMT -5
mr.mohs: whoa is the mohs I just spent a good hour trying to grind a flat on a green rock half for rock'n heart...still don't have it flat, straight & parallel-- more beer might help maybe
Mar 15, 2014 15:28:36 GMT -5
drocknut: Sounds like you might have had enough beer Ed Are the Slanted Girdles the same ones who work at the Tilted Kilt?

rockpickerforever: Diane, you're kidding me... You don't know Start Me Up by the Rolling Stones? "If you start me up If you start me up I'll never stop. If you start me up If you start me up I'll never stop. I've been running hot" etc, etc. 1976! mr.mohs gots it!!
Mar 15, 2014 19:00:29 GMT -5
mr.mohs: Diane comes back strong!
Mar 15, 2014 19:17:13 GMT -5
drocknut: Nope Jean, don't know it at all and I would never kid you . I never listened to the Rolling Stones.

mr.mohs: Diane dear You got rock tumbling around in your head-- but you never heard the Stones ? Tumbling Dice.. maybe ? just jesting
Mar 15, 2014 19:50:12 GMT -5
rockpickerforever: mr.mohs, maybe she is just a baby? I didn't realize. She was insinuating that we are OLD! I was a year out of high school when that song came out. Wonder if she knows Sympathy for the Devil? Even earlier, circa 1968. Stones are timeless!
Mar 15, 2014 21:52:50 GMT -5
mr.mohs: rock me baby, rock me baby, all nite long -well the Stones didn't do that one... but I think they know something about it
Mar 15, 2014 23:53:32 GMT -5
drocknut: I am definitely younger than you Jean I've heard of them just never got into listening to them. I was more into country and then 80's rock. Not insinuating anything but heck if the shoe fits ya know
Mar 16, 2014 10:58:03 GMT -5
rockpickerforever: Well, I figured that, just didn't know by how much, lol. Youth is not the only reason you might not be aware of the Stones. Living in a cave AZ, listening to "both kinds of music, Country and Western!" might be one. (from Blues Brothers)
Mar 16, 2014 13:20:27 GMT -5
mr.mohs: oftentimes I listen to C&W when grinding. Like the hokey heartfelt lyrics & twang of the steel. lately tho,,,its been old time r&r! my baby does the hanky panky & stuff like that...mostly
