Politicians on both sides want to run as Independents when things are not going well for their party. basic survival 101. Every Republican is still disavowing all knowledge of W and his policies. The Dems have been caught in the crossfire of a Economy that was ruined by Republicans fighting wars against Mythical enemies (with WMDs that didn't exist) and tax cuts to those who don't need it.
By election day, most people will wise up and give the Dems a few years to straighten out the country like Clinton did in the 90s..at least I hope they will. We cannot afford any more republicans fiddling while the USA burns. They have worked to ruin the economy and continue to root against a recovery before they get back into power.

Gray – Read both your links before I posted. CNSNEWS.COM The Right News. Right Now Founded by Brent Bozell, “one of the most outspoken … leaders in the conservative movement today.”As for the Examiner editorial by Tapscott – the “editorial page is heavily conservative” – “previously headed by … a reporter who has written several books praising George W. Bush.”There’s a source I can take to the bank, eh? Put the two of them together and voilà, a teabag accounting poke in the haystack. “Federal debt held by the public”I call that playing games and cherrypicking. Let’s say you owe the bookie ten grand, you’re broke, and you sneak another $500 out of the wife’s panty drawer. That might add up to only ten grand in your book – it’s $10.5K in mine. * Iraq War spending accounted for just 3.2% of all federal spending while it lasted.Somebody is f**cking crazy here, and it ain’t me. What right wing douchebag decided the war over when Bush left office? This mess is good for two or three trillion when all is said and done, and anyone saying otherwise is deluded. Care to guess what VA care and benefits for the wounded will cost for how many more decades? The estimates range all the way up to your so-called “total cost of the war while it lasted.” “For the record, I am not here to defend Bush . . . “ That’s cool. For the record, I don’t like ANY politicians. I just despise right wing neocon evangelical nutjobbbers the most. “ . . . He spent like the liberal congress he was dealing with.” Cherrypicking again? Or selective amnesia? I still remember the first six years when the House and the Senate* were controlled by those right wing neocon evangelical nutjobbbers I’m so fond of. * (don’t bother wasting time on Jim Jeffords) www.newyorker.com/talk/financial/2010/09/20/100920ta_talk_surowiecki

Apparently no one knows for sure what the deficit is. One thing you can take to the bank Rich is that Obama has spent more in two years than Bush ever thought possible in eight.
As far as wising up and give the Dems a chance, Chas. People have wised up, that's why the Republicans will wipe the Dems off the map in a very short few weeks. The problem will not be fixed at that time. It will take decades to straighten out the horrific damage this President and entourage have done. We will also have to weed out all the Republicans that are Dems in disguise. It will be a long hard road.

Many people voted for Obama because of what he said. Then when in office they found that he didn't listen to the people at all, he just rammed through what he wanted in spite of the peoples choices. It would be nice to vote for the candidate based on what he or she campaigns on but too often that is totally different from the way they vote. I still believe the people in Washington are there to support the people wishes. Let's face it not many wanted the Obama Care we now have, not many wanted the big spending and growing government we now have and not many want another stimulus, shoot he still has not spent all the original stimulus but is wanting more. Go Figure!

I'll add one more thing to this thread. Funny thing. After Woodstock was over, millions of people claimed to have been there. After health care, you cant find a single person claiming to have voted for it.

Snuffy, you are so right about Woodstock. It's apparent no one is running on the healthcare ticket unless it is to repeal it. I still think the worst thing he has done is still going on in Arizona. Attacking a state for trying to enforce federal law that Obama will not enforce. Supporting the Mexican President over Arizona and Clinton listing it as a human rights issue to the United Nations. That's the biggest scam of all.

Ya Tanya, we've noticed. Here's more for you.
WASHINGTON -- U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Tuesday he wants to attach an amendment to a defense policy bill that would help young people in the United States illegally become legal U.S. residents.
The Nevada Democrat said at a Capitol news conference that the legislation known as the DREAM Act is long overdue. He would not say whether he has the votes for the amendment. The act would allow young people who attend college or join the military to become legal U.S. residents.
The young people must have come to the country when they were under 16 years of age and have been in the country five years. Those who join the military must serve at least two years and complete two years of college.
Democrats have also promised gay rights groups an end to the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell Policy" that bars gays from serving openly in the military. That is in the bill that Reid said he will try to take up next week.
Republicans oppose both measures.
