Good golly Roger! I'd pee my pants if I found one of those on a walk in the woods. Love that incredible color change in the last specimen.....Mel

Nice find Roger. Better get all you can. There'll be a bunch of us out there next June, tearing those hills and grasslands up.

Hey Chuck, you only have 5 or 6 more driving hours than I do. You'd be welcome to join us. This last June we had folks from Colorado, Wisconsin, S.D. and even one from Washington. We had a blast. Don

Talking 'bout the pants: Mel, Steve, haven't you noticed he pictured the rock wet? ;D
Amazing find, indeed!

Is that a Fairburn Agate? It sure looks like one and it is truly beautiful!

That's what is called a hills agate Tanya. Very similar, but not a Fairburn. Agates like these are why I keep telling you to get out here next June.

This agate could have been a Fairburn if it had been exposed millions of year ago.The Black Hills were the source of Fairburns. We have proved it in Roger Clarks books. Good one Adrian!!! Roger

LOL, Adrian that's funny! I just missed Don by a couple of weeks last July. Went just after he got back and he was recovering from the trip. We found all kinds of good stuff in the creek before the pits at the campground. Most were Prairie Agates, but real nice. Have some suspected Fairburns. Don, I still haven't ground them to see if they are yet, LOL.
The gents are right about there being plenty for every one. Those piles are huge!
Todd... LOL
Excellent find! Congrats!!! Jo
