Lowell: My specimens are in containers all over the place and it's too hard to just sort out nodules and lay the other stuff aside and have to hunt for it all over again later, so whether nodule or vein types etc. I'm gonna post them as I find them and take photos and you can pick and choose what you want as you go. Also some of these occur as both nodular and vein forms (ie: Roostertail). Anyway, here's the next installment until my camera battery recharges....Mel Agatized Sponge from Mexico ( think it's a volcanic type nodule and not really a fossil replacement but that's the trade name anyway: Mexican Los Choyas nodule with smoky quartz: Los Choyas Nodules with pale amethyst: Solid Los Choyas: Trancas Nodule from Mexico: Concho or Snake Agate from Brazil: Ocos or Cloud Agate nodules from Brazil: Malawi Agate from Africa: Red Moss form Durango region, Mexico: Roostertail Agate ( Pata de Gallo) from Mexico: I have lots of rough if you want rough pics Lowell; Let me know. Black Lace Agate from Mexico: Condor Agate from Argentina:

OK Lowell. Last shot for the agate unless you want me to go to my cabs. I'm kinda hoping Bobby or HPD will post cab shots instead of me showing my crumby ole cabbing efforts. Anyway, let me know when you want to go for the jasper and rhyolites as I now know where quite a bit of stuff is *L*.....Mel Agatized coral from Indonesia: Two more sagenites from Chihuahua, Mexico: Rosetta Lace Agate. This stone is only partially agate/quartz and has a lot of travertine type calcite in it but agate was in the trade name when first introduced. Queensland Thunderegg, Australia: Huge Laguna Agate with sagenite: African Blue Lace Agate from Namibia: A scarce one, Wood Agate from Brazil. Have no idea why this vein material is called Wood Agate:

OK Lowell, One more set of some nodules I missed: Esperanza Nodules from Chihuahua, Mexico. Kind of smooth like Moctazumas and Coyamitos but very plain on the inside, mostly in grays, blues, browns and whites. Moctazuma Agate rough: Casas Grandes Agate rough: Coyamito Agate nodules: Royal Purple Aztec Lace rough. Usually a vein type material: Durango region: Janos Agate Thunderegg. ( also called Rainbow Agate) The rhyolite shell on these is usually cobbed down for sale as this one is. I've seen the natural rough and the rhyolite shell is huge with only a tiny amount of agate inside. Condor Agate rough. Old stuff from when it was first introduced at Quartzite: Botswana Agate rough:

Couple more Lowell: Chinese Imperial Carnelian. Think this might be heat treated as the Chinese often mess with their material and it's heavily fractured: Rough: Transmitted light: Tabasco Nodules from Mexico. Cut a couple to show inside and outside. Most are geodes with druzy quartz crystals:

Lowell: I think this is the last variety in my agate collection. Unfortunately, I tend to run in phases where I like one type of material so collect many variations on the same theme. Guess I should concentrate on getting one or two of each type but it never seems to go that way *L*. Anyway, this material is from China and is called Chopstick Agate. Supposed to be kind of a lattice sagenite but shows lots of different patterns....Mel
