I had to order a tumbler bowl from the Rock Shed, and I picked up some of the Bahia agates from Brazil. They are small, 3/4" to 2". Not much to look at in the rough, but I decided to clean some up on the Workforce and found they are pretty cool inside! I was going to just even them up for tumbling whole, but now I can't resist cutting them open... made a few shapes to tumble. Bill

I caved in to them awhile back as well--a few are out of polish. They really are beautiful; much better than the rough looks for sure. I didn't think to try preforms, but your photos are inspirational. (Need to get more)

Kurt, I hope to learn to wire wrap. Some of the preforms could be fitted to a bell cap or an up-eye. I am taken by all the beautiful cabs members produce here. So lately instead of simply chunking up stones for the tumbler I am cutting pseudo-cabs and pendants from the better material, will polish them in a UV 3 vibe. For now I am doing all the shaping on my Workforce saw, as it will be awhile before I get a cabbing machine.
