Dear lapidaries, I hope you enjoy these half as much as I enjoyed sharing the experience of mining, slabbing and photographing them with my partner Al. These are truly works of art beyond human artifice ... I felt as though the Fountains of Heaven had been placed in my frail human hands. Such a humbling experience to unlock their beauty. We call this Fancy Mahogany Sheen obsidian ... And this "Silver River Lace" ...More Fancy Mahogany Sheen ...The colors shimmer and flow with every motion ...And the tears flowed down my cheeks as I laughed with joy!Of course, you can share them with me ...As always, we're offering these to our fellow rockhounds, lapidaries and collectors. We have a small supply of this lovely material, and the best will be appearing on eBay and coming with us to Quartzsite, at the Tyson Wells showgrounds. We'll be there from January 6th to February 12th, for all three shows. We hope to see you there! If you can't make it there and don't find what you want at our eBay store, we hope you will contact us. We're still pressure washing thousands of pounds of Davis Creek obsidian. Best regards, Kris www.Hand2MouthMining.net

That is a sight to behold. It looks more like the northern lights than the aurora. Jim

Thanks for the great comments, everyone. We'll be posting smaller, more affordable slabs of similar material this coming week. I agree with the Northern Lights analogy, but being a know-it-all decided to use the scientific term for the phenomenon. See secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Aurora_%28astronomy%29*lol* These are much more colorful than the actual Aurora! thanks again! Kris

Drive out of the lights of Fairbanks Alaska or Kotzbue Ak and you will see that (in the winter )

Wow haven't seen rainbow and mahogany in the same slab before. Very very cool. I never have luck cutting rainbow, can never seem to get the angle right. You did a great job on cutting those.
