The dual barrel quandary can be complicated.
People like to have one barrel dedicated only to polish, but not all of us do. The coarse grind can sometimes take a month or more (if you keep culling the smooth ones and adding more) so you might want one going all the time in coarse, then another to do the subsequent stages.
LOL, this is why you see people with several tumblers of various sizes to continually move rocks along. You will be dreaming of ways to move those rocks through the stages more quickly without rushing it and messing up the load, LOL.

Gingerkid, as far as your question on the same vibe for metals and rock, the heavier duty ones will handle both. Gy-Roc, Mini Sonic, and (I think) Thumler's Industrial will but you would be better off with separate bowls. As said, if you want rounded pebbles then buy a rotary (Thumler's or Lortone). You will wish you had the double bowl quickly.
