Anybody who loves Obsidian is sure to do some drooling over this one -- this might be the most amazing rock I've seen yet. It closes tomorrow, and I'm sure the price will go sky high (if it doesn't people are crazy), but I thought y'all might enjoy looking at it in the meantime. And who knows, maybe one of us will buy it! www.ebay.com/itm/360474708575?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649Don't know how to embed an image from ebay . . . but if someone knows how, please do.

LEAVE IT ALONE YOU BA$TARD$!!! Lol. If you really want it, I've got a $50 bid on it. But seriously, I just really want someone on here to win it. That way I can see the finished product.

I also could never get myself to touch it to a saw! Fess up if you win it, and show us what you do with it too!

Hope you get it Geoff!!! $50 isn't going to be anywhere near enough though I'm sure.
You know, there are ribbons on the ribbons.

I buy or should I say BINGE from Jeff all the time lol He only sells top grade material. I definitely see a feeding frenzy on this one. If you get it for $50 you should run with it like you stole it LOL. If it is like any of his other auctions I wouldn't be surprised if it went for three times that . Good luck to you ;D Stu

what a cool smoke and fire slab very tempting but I got to save for a pair of 6 or 8 inch hard diamond wheels for my arbor that I just referbished. Right now I'm working with what I was using on my flex shaft, dinky little wheels that are meant for the Bigfoot cabber

Geoff, you're so familiar with Aurora Borealis, that you HAVE to have stones with resembling pattern, ain't it? Adrian

96 was a bargain if you compare it to the Fudge swirl that went for $100.

Well, don't feel bad, look at the bid history. That other guy was a dealer (red star), and he probably bid like 200 or something . . . if you had bid 97, he would have got it for 98. He was the first bidder and the last bidder. The only improvement you probably could have made was to get the seller more money for it.
It was fun to watch though! and what a rock!

Yes it was a fun auction. I think the star ratings pertain to feedback score not whether a member is a dealer or not. red star=1,000-4,999. Besides, I would think a dealer would be more limited in the amount bid as a dealer is buying to resell. and dealers don't like to overpay as it cuts into their profit margin. Needless to say I now have another stone on my radar banded fire obsidian ;D

I meant it more that somebody with that many ratings probably does this as a profession. :-) That could be an overgeneralization though.
Yeah, all red ribbon obsidian is going to be very sought-after for awhile now huh!

Bargain or not, I can't afford to go dropping a hundred dollars on a single slab. Even with all my dirty oil money!

Geoff if I come across another i will let you know. Part of the reason the slab went so high is that Jeff has a big following and a great rep for high quality. I have purchased slabs from other less popular venders that would have went for double of what I paid had it been on Jeff's auction.
