Maybe there is hope then. I use Verizon for phone and wireless. And credit cards at shows now. Hurray for Square Up!

Maybe there is hope then. I use Verizon for phone and wireless. And credit cards at shows now. Hurray for Square Up! I second the motion. Square is certainly disruptive technology. Disruptive in the sense that existing business practices must change or die. My boss got burned by a scummy credit card processing company to the tune of $3000 over a four year period. The contract was confusing and 60 pages long! He has three years left to pay. Square? One screen application, free equipment, no monthly fees, no no statement fees, no long term contracts, no nothing except smooth sailing! I guess you can say I am a fan of square.

Andrew, Nathaniel and I spent the day up at the Stoddard Wells Tailgate Rock Show. We had beautiful weather on Saturday (storm on Friday cleared all the smog out of SoCal), temperature was perfect with just a few clouds. Got to visit with Christopher (Christopher1234) and John (johnjsgems). Picked up a bunch of stuff from Christopher and a new blade from John. Thanks Guys! It was great seeing you! Andrew and Nathaniel messing around: An absolutely beautiful day: What we purchased from Christopher: And a few close-ups: I picked up two of these slabs. They were very striking: In the light: Nathaniel found a Mexican opal he liked: Thanks for checking out the thread and great seeing you guys! Paul

Pics look great Paul. Glad to see the weather improved. We sure got our share of rain/hail on Friday. Sure wish we could have gone. Dad is in the hospital again. Did you make it past Christopher's booth this year?

Hey, Larry - sorry to hear about your Father. My best to him. Yes, we did make it past Christopher's booth this year although, admittedly, it was only get to John so I could purchase the saw blade. I'm still impressed that he managed to drive up his 120 foot motor home up there (joking - but it was a really big motor home). Actually, we ended up at Christopher's booth twice! He had a really nice selection of materials.

You guys just love making me drool, don't ya ? Every time I see pics like these, I can smell the sage and creosote bushes. Wish I could make it out there for just one more desert hunt and tailgate before I croak.

Well Don, if you decide to make the trip out here "before you croak", drop me a line and let me know you're heading out. You're welcome to hang out with us. We'll fix up the spare room; you'll have to share it with an N-Scale model train layout :0 but it'll save you some hotel money! Then again, maybe you want the peace and quiet of a nice hotel! Regardless, you're welcome.

Paul, sorry I missed you, I ended up going on Saturday. Christopher, always good chatting with you. Hope the weather stays good when you gather more fire agate. Susan, I thought you were at the show. On Sunday it seemed that most of the vendors were gone. My first thought was that you bought them out! There was enough left and at some very good prices!
