Tim, I've spent about 100 hours hunting Gilas. Zero luck. I had to just accept they are not in the cards for me! Congrats.

Here is ol Dino. She is 17 years old now. Cant believe it. I use to feed her crickets for the first few years. Had a cricket setup to feed them and everything. Then they came out with that dry reptile food. I spray some water on it. The thing loves it. I only give her crickets maybe once a year and also only feed her every 3 days. I know that sounds mean but when I fed her everyday she was fat. Dino's mother was actually a wild bearded dragon. When I got her bearded dragons just became popular and there is one guy in St Louis that works with The St Louis Zoo that has his own shop, Exotic Arc(amphibians, reptiles, creatures). His shop is always busy and he sells out of mice on a daily basis. He now has his own breeding area for the more mainstream reptiles like the bearded dragons. She likes to hang out in the window and she is hardly ever in a cage. Even in the winter the window sill is warm enough to hang out there. Also had a few chameleons and a few leopard geckos that are dead now. Ol Dino has hung in there and outlived them all. She just might be the oldest living bearded dragon around St Louis. I know she cant be far off because like I mentioned I got her when bearded dragons were just being sold and I got her the day she hatched out the egg.

Scott, this is the friend of a friend that got popped by rattler this weekend. My neighbor does my grading work stopped his truck in my driveway for a timber rattler that he thought was a heavy limb.He is old fellow and great woodsmen no BS kind of guy and if he said he saw a T. rattler then it was there. He guessed 7 feet. sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-frc3/379780_512988465402981_1333949931_n.jpgChad just got out of the hospital today, this happen Sunday in Montgomery County Alabama: To all my friends who hunt, camp, or spend time in the woods: The pic below is of my left leg after being struck by a 6ft timber rattler today while turkey hunting. The snake bit through my hunting pants and Muck Boots (I usually wear snake boots when turkey hunting, but could not locate them this morning).... The initial bite felt like being hit in the calf by a baseball bat at full swing followed by excruciating pain radiating out from the bite wounds. Fortunately, I carry a snake bite extractor kit in my turkey vest, and was able to remove the majority (I guestimated 3-4 cups) of the venom contaminated blood. Following the instructions from the kit, I kept my heart rate down as best I could, and slowly limped the 200 yds to my vehicle, and was able to drive myself to the hospital which, thank the good Lord, was about 20 min away. Once there, I was administered the anti-venom, antibiotics, ect. The ER Doc told me that, based on the distance between the two fang punctures and their diameter and depth, if I had not used the venom extractor kit, I would have died before I ever made it to my truck. So, if you do not already own one, I want you to go to a sporting goods store and purchase a venom extractor kit ASAP. I bought mine at academy and it was around $10.00. I would urge you to buy a couple. Put one in each vehicle in your household, in your hunting or hiking pack, and especially your B.O.B. ect,,,,they are about the size of a bar of soap and can literally save your life or someone you love. Please don't blow this off. Do it tomorrow!!!! I am spending one night (hopefully) in the hospital, and may require some minor surgery to remove any damaged tissue from the poison, but that is a far cry from losing my leg or passing through the pearly gates!!!! Respectfully, Your Friend, Chad CrossSee More

I keep marveling at her. She does not even look old. She does have some wear and tear. Not all that long ago about an inch of her tail broke off. Has a few nails missing also. Never did think she would still be around today but she is still in good health. Shes outlived 5 other reptiles I had, 1 dog and 2 cats.

jamesp, I still cant get over the pics you took of those puppies. Some of the best puppy photos Ive seen. The one where the cat is peeking over the side is a good one. Whats cool about them is that they are action shots and nothing was set up. Some of the photos are better than ones they sell, no joke.

That was a pirate photo Scott.I never knew that turtle would hang out in N.Georgia.The sand hills of the Ocala National Forest create a big happy habitat for that Gopher. And holes for Diamond Backs-plenty of those rascals. I guess that Gopher has a much bigger range. They caught a guy living off the land in the forest;had about 60 shells.Bas tard was eating them.Just like Washington state lawmen was glad Florida caught Ted Bundy;iwas glad they caught this turtle killer-let me tell ya'Florida is the wrong place to felonize. That gopher will not make a burrow at my spot on Lake George-water table is 3-3.5 feet down-too wet.He likes to go deep up on higher ground. I am so casual with snakes up here in Georgia.I know them and variety is limited. But down in Florida they have so many variations. The most impressive snakes i have ever caught were oversize snakes.A moccasin,a coral snake and a copperhead. The coral and copper i cannot remember;i just know they were 6-8 inches longer than my books said they get.The moccasin was probably the nastiest snake i ever laid eyes on at 5'2".I caught him and put him up against me for reference. The viper head on that thing was as big as a bushmaster's.Fast mean strong and heavy. My brother calmly said "stop Jim snake" me walking ahead of him.I stopped about in striking distance.I was pale rider, dude that was a bad day.On the Pee Dee river near Myrtle Beach where brother was living. Honestly, those scare me so bad.Pygmies and Moccasins and copperheads, the rest i never see.

That is awesome!! Love that. Rattlesnakes in Canada re pretty rare. Probably considered "endangered".
