I replied to a thread like this once. This one was started before I had a screen name though. I got my name because I'm male and I know how to juggle.

Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone." A bit haughty now that I think about it. Should a picked something shorter or my name. Love Dylan, though, and music forms a large part of my life.
It's like those rocks "go to (em) now you can't refuse."

Mine carried over from the carnivorous plant forum. I used to grow sundews, flytraps and tropical pitcher plants. My avatar is one of my seed grown babies all grown up, Nepenthes splendiana x mixta. Kept the name cause I can remember it easy enough.

I had thought I added my response here, but don't see it. Is there more than one similar thread? Zar is a card game I designed & market. It's like Uno on steroids. Can you imagine an adrenaline pumping card game? www.playzar.comLynn

I sew, quilt but I also rockhound/gemstone and mineral hound and gold pan. Didn't really get into the rockhounding until years back when I found Garnets in the sluice box while gold panning. But I still sew for the granddaughters and if I want something new for myself or the house. Hence my name !

I've used Cdave, C1Dave, etc. Here I tried 1dave and so far i still have it. As for toiv0 , I'm losing my hearing so had to find:

1dave , I suspect no one will remember my name! Who could forget Billy? My cards for work and jewelry just say "billy" and my phone number, first thing someone does when I give them one is turn it over to look for the rest of the normal stuff on a card. I tell them I am like Prince (but alive) and just have one name...maybe I will have just a symbol in the future.

There's this thread and at least one other one:
