Grizman - This load was done in the loto vibe tumbler and was loaded with approx. one pound of cabs and crosses and 3 pounds of mixed size ceramics. Using that much ceramic has multiple purposes. It creates a nice even shine on all the large flat surfaces like the cab fronts and backs, it helps get polish to hard to reach places like those inside 90 degree corners, it keeps the cabs from sticking together during tumbling, and it protects the cabs from any damage.

Great work on all the cabs, the moss and the plume are my favorites. You would think a farmer would like that plume, it reminds me of wheat or barley.

Chuck, How far do you take them on the wheels? What grit do you start them in the Loto? Lynn

Chuck, How far do you take them on the wheels? What grit do you start them in the Loto? Lynn The crosses went right from the trim saw into the lot-o at the beginning of the 120 run. I spend more time on the tumbled cabs then I really need to. If I am cabbing a nice solid agate or jasper I run them through all six wheels on the genie but I do it knowing that they will be tumbled after so I only spend a couple minutes on each wheel. The tumbler will take out any minor scratches. Some people say to toss them in the tumbler after the 120 hard wheel but I can usually still feel small facets and ridges at that point so I would hold off till after the 280 soft wheel. I put my cabs in the lot-o at the 120 stage but I wait until it has been running about 12 hours so the grit is broke down a bit. If the girdle on a cab gets to rounded over after tumbling sometimes I'll go back and clean it up on the genie across all 6 wheels to sharpen it back up. Hope that helped a little. Chuck
