OK, I PM'd you roy but I am going to put this out in the light of day too so I can up the commitment - I'm going to try and make this trip. If there are folks from Northern Colorado or along the way on I80 in Wyoming or Northern Utah I am going to either drive my too-big gas guzzler or try and rent either a 4-runner or Sequioa and make the ~12-hour drive and collect the living daylights out of some rocks! If anyone else can vouch for you that you aren't an axe murderer we can share a ride and cost - up to the passenger capacity of whatever vehicle I can get minus room for rocks to haul home. If I can go, I promise the mother of all trip reports (and the pics to go with it) as well as a high probability of some of the best "I can't believe that numbskull made it out alive" stories everyone else can share for generations to come. I know I've been hard to find lately. We had a death recently (my friend who I made the citrine pendant for a while back) and we have been holding several of her family members close in the aftermath - but I am still around and am looking forward to another chance to meet up with some great folks.

John, i hope to be your neighbor by the time this trip comes around. If I can get the time off from my new job, I will make the drive with you! I haven't killed anyone with an axe in a long time! I have a friend in Boise that I tried to invite but he's going to be on a trip. But he said I can stay at his house. Roland

Well, there's no way I'm going to be able to make it, either. So I just hope y'all have a blast, find some great rocks, and enjoy the BBQ! Nothing like playing with rocks and breaking bread between rock'n friends.
Stay safe!

Looking forward to meeting you Orrum. Just a heads up, there won't be a whole lot in Quartzsite at that time of year. It will be too hot for most people to stay there. There are lots of places in the Owyhees where you can collect right next to your pickup, you will do great!

Thanks Tony but I am going to be here for a while yet. I heard something about it still being cold up there, just a rumor though. I will for sure be stopping on my way through to where ever I end up going UNLESS I end up going to my son's place. There is no good way to get from your place to his place pulling a large trailer with a light pickup. I almost had to go to 4 low to get over south pass when I came down.
Orrum, go to QIAArizona.org and you should be able to get a schedule for March. The latest I have is Flebulary. Jim
