We will be there to put up our display case. I think this is about the 35th year that I have been displaying there. Bob

Wish I could make it folks! It's just too long a drive from SoCal but I used to attend when I lived in the East Bay. I'm sure it's much bigger and better now than back when dinosaurs still roamed the Earth.

Pat - Eva and I enjoyed the show a lot - bought some nice laguna nodules and a couple of slabs to have fun with. I'm pleased that we got to meet you in person and wish we could have stuck around and watched your demonstration - very interesting stuff you are doing there. bobby1 - Bob your display is phenomenal. Really enjoyed seeing some of your mega-cabs in person and the tornado cab blew us away.

Here's some slabs I bought at our show. 1- agate IMG_2310 by Pat6489, on Flickr 2-from Hornitos. Looks like a red sky with the Milky Way IMG_2309 by Pat6489, on Flickr 3-nice little slab of jade already in about the shape I want it. IMG_2306 by Pat6489, on Flickr 4-This was called guava quartz. Very solid. Should take a good polish. New color to me. IMG_2305 by Pat6489, on Flickr 5- They called this Christmas Tree jasper IMG_2304 by Pat6489, on Flickr 6- Noreena. I like all the hematite stripes in it. IMG_2313 by Pat6489, on Flickr That's all the rocks, but also found a handful of diamond grit syringes and sanding sticks.

I brought this to a gemologist at our show. He said it was lepidolite. Since then three people have said no, but they didn't know what it was. Do you know? Here it is wet and dry. IMG_2316 by Pat6489, on Flickr

Hmmm, no idea on that last one, but don't think it's lepidolite. Love that red Milky Way poppy jasper, way cool!

Yummy slabs. You've got some fun cutting ahead.
The last one doesn't look like lepidolite to me. Sugilite seems like a possibility based both on the color and the layered appearance. Somewhere I have some Sugi rough that looks almost identical. Any idea of hardness?
