Very nice!
I like the 8th one down the most - you can see the perfect down pointing arrow .

Very nice! Like I said before I can easily get lost gazing at something like this. I like the 8th one down especially with its perfect down pointing arrow .

I miss seeing how pretty these are sometimes, looking for something I can polish or set aside as a specimen. These are a bunch of broken bits and large chunks that I've been ignoring because I can't "do anything" with them. I've taken notice of them this past week or so and have enjoyed just looking at them so I thought I'd share. Nothing better than rediscovering old treasures! I'm sorry you can't do anything with 'em, thow them in a box and send them to me - problem fixed!

Can't do anything with them I can see bunches of smaller ring and earring stones in there. Even some small pendant stones. That last one face polished would make a killer display piece of TeePee.

Don, There are still some very good ones found if one has the time, but there are areas out there with TONS of overburden one has to work under. No thanks. I will find mine from the piles that others have left behind.

Being a newbie, I guess I don't understand why you can't break that up and tumble it? Is it because there's so much "junkite" surrounding the good stuff?

moogie - TeePee Canyon agate is a type of Fairburn Agate, which in general are relatively rare (TeePee less so than other varieties) - but TeePee is plagued with fractures. I can probably chunk some up and grind/vib polish it, but I've had it crumble apart pretty badly. I don't have a good way to face polish the big piece but I do think I could do that if I got the right tool - like jakesrocks said.

John, TeePee's aren't at all like Fairburns. There's a huge difference in the fortifications. TeePee's are classified as one of the many types of hills agates. About the only hills agate that comes near to a Fairburn is the park agate from Custer State Park. Unfortunately it's illegal to hunt in the state park, so the only park agate you may find is old stock which occasionally shows up on ebay. (I have 1 in my collection). This is a park agate. Very near to a Fairburn, but there is a slight difference.
