@azrockgeek took me hounding and we found this giant pyrite cube. That's my buddy Rick relaxing on it.

Wow- isn't pyrite pretty soft? The colors in that one are to die for, you must have gotten some flakes?!

Pyrite. Hmmph.
Anyways, not so much about the big rock that I couldn't get home, but different. In my younger, single years my transportation was a Jeep CJ-7. When I moved back to Colorado from Northern NY, it became an issue of what would fit was what would go. My meager collection wasn't making the cut. Nothing real special, all self collected-mess of trilobites, crinoids, cephalopods, horn corals, pyrite in phyllite, quite a lot of epidote, tourmaline, ilmenite, hematite. Put it all on a stone wall in the woods on the edge of a corn field just off a dirt road, figured I'd pick it up some time when I was back there visiting relatives. Fast forward a few years, I swing by to pick up my rocks and the stone wall isn't there. The land had been sold and the new owners bulldozed the stone wall.

On top of a mountain in ID.
Never see it again. Left the camera behind.
A-holes will continue to smash it with hammers.
Agate worth hundreds intact. Already smashed.

I am sure someone will go get it and share it with you if you can share GPS coordinates. I will send in our heli. Yes, it is too bad that sometimes people will try in vein to chip off a huge piece if they can't get the whole thing. I guess they figure they can at least take a piece. And sometimes this works. And sometimes it just shatters and chatters the whole thing.

Pm the the gps and I'll get your camera (I will not take any agate, You can trust me) I'm not an A-hole. People say I'm more of a Butthead.
