Nice wheels, too rich for me. Used to try and sneak things past my wife but she always found out somehow, only thing that worked was fudging a little on the price that I paid. You couldn't sneak that past your wife.

LOL. Sneaking is not an option. The seller has accepted my offer. Now I have to get to the bank to arrange a wire transfer. Also have to make arrangements for shipping.
My high school car was a 28 Ford Sport Coupe with A hopped up engine like this one, until I blew it up racing a Chevy. Found a model B engine with a Fargo 4 port head to put in it. The early Chevy V8's couldn't catch me stop light to stop light, but would pass me on longer runs.

Good luck Don! It looks like a lot of fun. Going to take it to the track, too?

No Chuck,it won't be raced. Those old engines are getting hard to come by, and people who know how to build them are even harder to find. It will probably be entered in a few local car shows, and will certainly be taken to the antique tractor show at Andover, S.D. to participate in their antique tractor and car parade. But first I have to get it up here, (if I get it).

Great car. Enjoy it!
My neighbor restores old cars and just picked up a 1930 Ford body. He had a wagon, some very rare 57 Ford or something. Almost had it fully restored and got hit last week. Totaled the car. He was pissed, but will now take the insurance money and put it into the 1930.

Mentioned the car to mama. She's not happy. Her jaws got kind of tight, but I think I'll get away with buying the car without going through a divorce. Need to contact the guy for bank transfer info, and will try to do the deal tomorrow or Thursday. Gonna be a couple weeks before it gets here.

Need someone to drive it to you? Not really Lee. WOO HOO !! Just had an hour long talk with the guy who's handling selling the car. He's going to fix a few minor bugs before shipping it. Just had an email from him with the bank transfer info. Off to the bank I go tomorrow. As soon as it's paid for, I'll contact a shipping company. Should be here by the end of the month or early next month. Waiting is going to be worse than cabin fever. Can't wait to drive it the first time.

Just a thought. Thank God mamma can't drive a stick shift. Once she figures out how much fun it's gonna be riding around town in that car, I'd never get the keys away from her.
After being on the phone with the seller for a solid hour, I think mamma suspects that I'm up to something.

Oh crap. Why do all good plans have to be doomed ? My mother in law was hauled to the hospital this morning. Wife spent the day at the hospital. I was stuck at home baby sitting the phone and Jake. No money transfer today. Try again tomorrow.
Anyway, I sent a message to the guy explaining the situation. All's good. He says there's no hurry. It'll give him more time to fix a couple minor bugs, and prep the car for shipping.

Thanks Scott. Sometimes I feel like the other end though. The moon. Yeh, that kind of moon. Had hoped to arrange for shipping today. I won't contact a shipping company until I know the money is in the bank on the other end.

Are you sure Don? Save you a load of money if I drive it to ya. Probably cost more in gas, food and motel rooms to drive it up here.

Super cool! I've always wanted either a 1936 Ford Phaeton ( my best friend had one when I was in high school) or a 1955 Buick Special convertible ( gal friend had one when I was in college). We have two shops specializing in vintage, antique, hot rod cars here locally as it's a big hobby here, but since I'm not mechanically inclined, the wife has put her foot down on me getting an expensive toy I don't know how to fix if'n it breaks....Mel

Mel, my dream car has always been a 27 Ford track roadster done the way they were back in the 40's & early 50's. Don't like the body style on anything built after 1936.
Luckily I've owned enough Model A's in my younger years that I know how to work on them.
