Not sure what this blue/green rock and jasper are. I saw them at a local rock sale and put them in my bucket for roughly $1 a pound. Any help would be appreciated. The green one on the right was identified as a grossular garnet but it is very heavy for its size and has some nice translucency. Wondering if it is jade?

First photo: piece on the left might be vistaite and the piece on the right looks like wascoite. Good finds.

Lower right does look like the massive garnet stuff I have. Garnet is quite heavy and harder than jade.....Mel

Left bottom might be BC ocean rock from Canada. A scratch test with a nice hard Montana or Brazil agate would not scratch garnet but it would scratch jade. Wascoite is for sure, not so sure top left is Vistaite, maybe a pic of the cut surface?

Thanks for the IDs. I haven't had a chance to take better pictures yet but hopefully soon. The blue/green one doesn't look like the vistaite I saw on web searches. I'll take some photos at different angles and maybe cut a slab.

Justin, were these rocks from the Edmonds sale? If so, are they local Washington material? They sure look to be...Top left looks an awful lot like local Blue/Green Nephrite. Not sure about the Jasper. Bottom left looks like Prase and I'll throw in with those that are saying Grossular on the bottom right. Any chance you could get a close up shot of the cut side on the blue and green rock?
Nice score, by the way!

Here's a close-up of the blue/green rock. The white patch is translucent. I like the green in this rock although the cracks might be a problem. Here's a jasper of some sort that I also picked up at the sale:

I think that blue and green rock is Diopside...Those Jaspers are awesome. I especially like the two in the last photo.

Cool rocks. Looks like lots of nice jaspers in the last pictures. Wish I could help on the id's but I am not good on that.

Oooh, I got some Wascoite slabs for my first round of attempts and I really like working with it. Good finds all around!! Can't wait to see what you make with 'em.

Definitely thinking about making spheres out of these rocks.
