Thanks for taking us on the trip, a bunch of very nice finds you have. Larry Looking forward to some rockhounds rambling thru the coral. Hope they have a knack for finding what they like.

The last piece of the agatized stuff that you are holding in your hand is an ancient stone tool. You can tell by the shape, by the sharpened edge going almost all around and by the size that fits the hand. Bob

It is called Rocky Ford. Many stone tools at that shoal. Apparently it was a crossing for native man. And a spot to prepare meats. The county built the state road bridge on part of it.

is that fire agate on your pointer finger? I wish Scott. Some of those botryoids turn that glaring color. I suppose it is chalcedony. I know this one was sealed in clay and not stained by the river. So it must form with that color and not be water stained.

I bet you find fire agate in the locality. It may happen. Fire agate has a lot of colors in it. The botryoids I find are a lot blander than fire Agate. Here is a link to about every type of botryoid I have ever found. Many were broken from larger plates and broken chunks. www.flickr.com/photos/67205364@N06/sets/72157632305351962
