A friend of mine has some 5x6 slabs she wanted lap polished. It is a bit bigger than I want to do on my 3" vertical sander.
Anyone with a flat lap want to polish 2 or 4 slabs for cash? Have to be done through mail.
Or, if there is someone you recommend, please reply or PM.

I can do them. I have a 20" jiggle pan (vibrating lap) that works super well. I've done slabs up to 14" across with it and get a great polish on most rock species. I use tin oxide polish. What type of rocks are they? I ask because, for softer stuff, I'd have to dump my pan of SnO and install a new pad and get some aluminum oxide polish like Rapid Polish #61. C-ya, Rick

Thanks, Kabamby Jasper, and maybe some Ocean Jasper. There are some visible saw marks, but not so bad as miscut or anything.
I will mention to my friend. SHe is going to Seattle for a week, but will get back to this project.

I just did a huge slab of Kabamby for my collection. It would fit right into my rotation as tin oxide works great on it. C-ya, Rick

Hi Rick. My friend is still on vacation in Seattle. I think she is back on the weekend.

Rick has not logged in for a while. Anyone else willing to polish some slabs?

My friend has actually really gotten "in" to her project and not has about 5 dozen slabs of OJ (and a few misc slabs), various quality, various sizes. I could help a little with cleaning nubs, squaring edges ... but she needs to hire someone who can help her get a satin polish on all this material so it can be used in a tile project. Rick seems to be away form board, and the project has grown anyway. Meanwhile, anyone know a business/person she can contact? She can pay usual/reasonable fees. I will encourage her to register and make her plea in person. Any helpful advice appreciated! Here is about 45. There are some more in the mail
