Perseids and another meteor shower group are putting on a show now through the 18 of the month or so. When the height of the meteor shower is supposed to take place, the moon will be a supermoon, the brightest full moon of the year... so start watching the skies now and still see a show, on the 12th through the 16th the moon's brightness will blot out some of the light from the stars. anybody have telescopes? I have always seen plenty with just my naked eye, but I always love to look at all the cool photos posted by observatories and folks with big telescopes and fancy cameras.

I must of seen the tail end of the shower tonight. Caught a couple of them falling on the drive home this evening. First I thought lightning? Then I realized there were no clouds in the sky. Cool!

they seem to have started early and ended late this year. There is another meteor shower incoming or ongoing, can't remember the name... gonna have to look that up. too cloudy here to see much of anything right here. Thanks for the humidity, Lake Huron... misty clouds are almost perpetual so close to the lake in the evenings.
