I draw the top of the cab and rough trim it and then redraw on the back. I normally mark them. This is the top, I started to cut: This was suppose to be the top. It reminded me of a Japanese painting. The good news is that it is a 3/8" thick slab and I have a high girdle line. I guess I will double dome it.

I polished the back that was suppose to be the front. My fingers are sore so the double dome will need to wait. Front Back

Nice! What is it? Back lit like that it really shows it off.

Nice! What is it? Back lit like that it really shows it off. I have no idea. It was a single cab slab that I found in one of my slabette boxes. I'm guessing it was a throw in bonus on an ebay purchase. I'd welcome an id.

Sorry, can't help with an ID, but just wanted to say you are not alone. I think we've all done that (cut wrong side as front) at least a time or two! Glad your slab was thick, and you can make the best of it.

It's a beautiful piece.
Took me the longest time to figure out whether to have the face up or the face down when starting a cab. Finally taped a note above the 80 wheel.
Foggy Japanese scene. Lovely!

That is a real pretty cab. I love that peaceful scene you caught.

Have you lit it up with a black light? Very nice piece of agate!
