Well i am looking for a motor to replace the old Dumore model SALX (if someone has a working one feel free to pm me). I have an old tumbler system from the 40s i got for free and the motor is the only problem...
I'm thinking about possibly getting a tumblers model b motor but i need to know if it has a 1/4 inch shaft and where its mount points are.
I am open to all motors that have an rpm of 1500-1800 that you can mount to a flat plate via bolts (or similar), i would like an auto shot off if it gets over heated, so if anyone can help that would be great
Also is high or low torque better

I'll measure the shaft on the Thumlers B in the morning and post what I find, but 1/4 inch sounds right.

Ok, thanks... If you could get a photo of how that thing mounts that would be great also.

My apologies. i was having so much fun splitting firewood this morning that I almost forgot about rocks for a few hours. I'll get the info tomorrow.

1/4" for the shaft looks like a go. Managed to snap a bad photo while it was running, hope it helps. Ooh, that thing is dirty. When I unload it next week I'll have to give it a bath. Russ

That motor mounts using the through bolts that hold motor together. You probably need to find a resilient mount motor (mounts in a cradle). How big is your tumbler?

Yeah that's what I need I wasnt sure what the name is... as for how big... well i can probably get a AR-15 or 2 AR-12 barrols on.... It didnt come with any so i'm figuring this out as i go... This is the old motor it came with... its a dumore model SALX you can see the mount it came with along with the rollers for the tumbler in the backround.
