because I have two large chunks, about 5 pounds each, and the green is nice, but bland. If I could color them, they'd look a lot better....

Hi Phil,
Try Green Indian Ink.
Works well with sand on Gem Tree bases.

the lt green is a nicer shade IMO, but the lighter colors do sell for less. But, I think the time and effort to dye slabs, would not be realized in any slab sales.
