I got these slabs at a silent auction when I was teaching lapidary at Camp Paradise. The seller didn't know their name but thought they came from Oregon. Some kind of Black Plume Agate. Bob

Thanks, Mel! That was kinda my guess but the slabs didn't have as much white as I had expected for Marfa Plume. Bob

Bob, Stuff from that part of Texas is pretty variable and widespread. It often has more blue than my examples and comes from a pretty large area. The stuff from over Lake Balmorhea way often has more blue but I found plume on my Marfa trip with lots of blue too. Also found banded agate at those same plume beds that were strongly banded in black and blue or black and white. Loosely called Marfa Black and White but the blue and black was there too, and to me, indistinguishable from Balmorhea Blue.....Mel Here are couple of Marfa Plume cabs that have less white and a bit of blue and are closer to what you have.
