We sure would have fun exploring that place. I take my friends here, they have fine tools. And everything else. They have a contract with GE and other big companies that do ironwork/millwork to get the tools after large installs. Yesterday I put 400 feet of small SS lamp chain and 8 tiny hammers in the motorcycle bag, $26. Hammers for kap, chain for wife. Nothing for me Earl's father built the place out of junk metal, he owned a millwright company.

Do they have an online store too James??? No way Michael. Walk in biz keeps them hopping. If they did they would smoke. I have seen them sell 1000 pound boxes of big end mills and large drill bits for scrap price. Scrap biz irritating that way. So much fine stuff wasted to re-melt.

Mostly a bunch of hard nose ironworkers and riggers in there w/prison guard mirrored sunglasses. Electronics may not be their forte. Earl cool, will ask him.

Apache Reclamation is where I got the parts to rebuild the motor pulley on the Harbor Freight tumbler to accommodate a super duper belt I think it’s a good fix and want to use it for finishing work But I may never get there. I bought this fabulous Tumbler from the other junk place I go called: The Yard. On my first load after two weeks of tumbling bliss --I checked the rocks. Looking good. Closed it back up and let it roll. Came home. The lid had exploded, rocks & grit everywhere, and the barrel was rolling erratically on the rollers. It did major number on the tumbler chassis. I forget to tighten the lid nut. To much pressure! Damn! Now I got the tilted tumbler blues. Never have successfully finished a load of rocks. Except in my dreams Ha Ha James ask Earl to if he knows of The Yard. Dan Pantelic- Industrial Archeologist You’d be excellent at that James

Ask Midsouth if they have any old Foley-Belsaw sharpening equipment especially a handsaw filer They are way cool machines
TheYard as one- a hand filer Dan didn’t know what it was. I gave him an education He wants me to take it
But he’d have to pay me to take it. O I’d like to have it Just no room for it
unfortunately they are outdated machines very few people get their handsaw re-filed anymore mostly

They have some old tools. Most of it comes and goes-new stuff Ed. When it does not sell, they melt it. They have a lot of volume. There is old stuff in nooks and crannys.
Old hardware store used to resharpen saws. Wife's family a bunch of carpenters. They sharpened their saws. Man would they cut.

would one of these chain hoists (correct name?) fit in a LFRB? If so, name me a price. I have a plan to make a small crane for lifting larger rocks into the truck/

Rope on a block and tackle might be better. wrestling w/chain is sucky. I will ask if they have block and tackle, they may not. Boat winch sweet too.

Yeah, think of maybe 400# capacity, but I need to lift like 4ft. The concept is a tripod with swing arm. One leg inside the truck and two outside. Lift the stone and swing around over the bed. Haven't got past visualization yet.
MIght need to be a 4 pod
