When I try to cut some cabs, my wife says "you are wasting your wheels." Here are three: I bought something on ebay from a seller in North Carolina. The description was jasper rock found in Washington state. I liked the picture and it was cheap. When I cut into it, there was little resemblance to the picture. Stubborn as I am,I slabbed it and cabbed it. I had a piece of Tahoma rough and I removed the matrix. Tahoma is seam material. I preformed two cabs. One of the cabs didn't show much so I kept grinding it down until it becam a potato chip. This one I ground it down less and accepted it for what it was. This little cab showed some promise and then disappointed.

lol I think "wasting your wheels" is something all of do and probably more often than we will admit to I have stubbornly ground slabs that I thought had promise into little piles of sludge more than a few times. But, sometimes those questionable slabs turned into beautiful cabs. I think the variable reward with them is what keeps us doing it. I like your cabs as well - that first one has really nice color and you oriented the brown bands great.

Definitely Not wheel wasters, stardiamond, those are really nice cabs. ROFL, mohs, ain't buyin' any tales about 'misfit' rock hearts. I'm in the same crowd with orrum - flats n scratches.

not a waste, every one turned out well, they are pretty! Shows skill to take dubious material and turn it into something of beauty!

every rock has a little personality waiting to be exposed. You did your duty and helped these 3 exit from obscurity. Keep on wasting them. tom

You are both far too critical. Those are nice cabs. I really like the last one. You should waste wheels more often!
