Went down to the Bruneau Canyon this weekend with a couple other members and some friends. BLM has bulldozed Joe's cabin into a hole, so there are no more cabins down there. The bridge has suddenly become very "bouncy", don't think it will last too much longer. The road has more rocks in it than it used to, although some of the big holes have been kind of filled in with the extra rocks that were deposited onto the road. Kind of looks like they want to keep us out of there. They did put in a new sign with a picture of my friend Gene Anthis on it and a short history of Bruneau mining. You can see the old digs across the canyon The road to get there is now in the wilderness area Roy and Andy in camp All of us stopped in front of the old pickup that was converted into a winch for a group photo on the way out Was a good time with some good friends and my bestest rock hounding buddy Lizee. Thanks for lookin................Tony

We did find a few pieces laying around, I picked up mostly tumble rough so I can give some tumbled Bruneau to the kids but there were a few keeper pieces in there also.

what a great looking group..seems the days of driving right up to a dig site are getting fewer and fewer..and if you can drive to it, its claimed and its a pay site now...hunting estate sales and so forth has become the only way to obtain some good quality rock anymore..i sure hope rock hounding doesnt follow the same diaster the gold industry did...enough ranting ...shows us some rock pics soon calm me down...take care,

Good times with great people and a beautiful place full of history. Saying there is a "road" to location is a huge stretch, a goat trail would be more like it. Oh yeah and in this part of the country "BLM" is considered a foul mouthed word....just saying . Cheers.

Good to see ya Tony and a great report. Damn, I want to get over that way but just tooooooo many things going on. Lot of things up in the air here and not sure how it is all going to land without crushing my Arizona winter. Jim
