Picked up a 5lb HF vibe today. I dumped about 4lbs of chips and tiny pieces of scrap from my crushed agate. I've been monitoring it all day and left it to run overnight to test it out. So far it seems to be doing well and smoothing the rocks. Since 90% of the material is flat I figured it was the best test pieces. Its fairly quiet and thankfully isn't walking all over my garage or doing anything else to ruin my day. I added plastic BBs as media for these thin shards to soften it up a bit, and added a cup of watwith 10tps of 220. Since this is a test batch I will use that to gauge what needs to be more or less. Everyone seems to have their own formula for best results so I'm going to do some more research an put all that info together. Any tips are always welcome.
Maybe when all is said an done, I could turn these scraps into pendants for necklaces an bracelets. I'll have to get some pictures uploaded tomorrow afternoon of the outcome.

If you are referring to the harbor fright tumbler, good luck.i had started with one of those and it lasted about a week before the grit and rock abraded a hole in the bowl and then the motor failed the next week.i believe it is designed for burnishing metals. Dave
Ps.im not trying to be a hater, just been there and done that.

I'm fully aware its a dry tumbler and I'm trying to play with how much water an media to add for it to function to my liking. I'm only going to use small rocks and the minimal amount of water without getting leaks but also getting a nice slurry. Its alot of work an you get what you pay for. I'm not expecting miracles by any means with this machine. I also only loaded it 1/2 full, just below the top of the cone.
