Colors are a bit off I think in the photo. It looks like an interesting piece. Not all jaspers are named. In fact it seems only the large deposits, especially beautiful, or the valuable types are named. Anyway, welcome aboard and keep on posting your finds.

Thanks, Mark. That's good to know. The color in the photo is very close... it's a very rich brown color. I guess I'll name it after me! ~ Roger

Do you work at the Playmill? My wife and I really enjoy that place in West.

Not one I've seen a name for. The colors remind me of feather jasper, but that is dendritic and not so brecciated. This one is lightly brecciated with black agate holding everything together. I see a little fortification in one of the agate seams.
The contrasts are nice. You would have a nice material to trade if you picked up a few buckets. If it is a whole deposit, you might consider filing a claim. I have seen worse come to market.

Mark- Yes! I'm Roger Merrill, the owner. I've always been kind of a rock hound, but only recently made time for it after a bunch of years. I've been finding some great stuff up there. Where are you?

So far, no deposit... it's a creek find in a glaciated area, but I have found several pieces so far. I was very pleased when I cleaned off the slab!
