Don,I like that idea,saves me about a days work..............Stuff is on hold for a week now,because of deer season.... Need to get this polisher going so I can get those slabbed rocks a good polish and out of here........LOL (Well some of them anyhow),,

if someone encounters the same problem later, I have had success using 'gear pullers.' They can be found in a variety of sizes at harbor freight. Whatever you do, don't hammer the end of the shaft. I love my Poly arbors, easy to maintain and use.

After looking at the Poly again,I see this poly doesn't let the belts go from the bottom,plus I don't want to cut into the pan it sets in..So will build a removable smaller stand for the motor to sit on... Seems to be the simpler solution....

Hey if you measure for what size you need in shims I probably have them never thought about it!
