Bought some Leopard jasper a few weeks back and today they showed up in the mailbox. A little amazed on the variety of color. Thought it came only in the same colors as the cat, like in the middle one. Learn something new all the time. I think its Cheetah agate that isnt a mix of colors I am thinkn of?

The red has become more common lately. Some of the gray bits in the red type can be a little softer. Sometimes you can get a piece to undercut in an artistic way in a tumbler. The dots stay raised and take more shine.
It is fun stuff

Undercutting of the gray parts of red leopardskin is mostly an issue in tumblers. As long as you do not press too hard on wheels it should not be a problem. This is a rhyolite and is soer than jasper. The material varies in how silicified and or grainy it can be. The dots are harder.
