First item might be a fish hook. Second item looks to have oriental characters .

the first one is a halibut hook used in alaska...the other sems to be horn, dont have a clue on it

Second is an Egyptian (is it a box?) scarab with hieroglyphics. No idea of whether it is ancient, since they've also produced these for tourist pieces for a couple of hundred years now.

Is the base wood or some sort of hoof? Definitely a scarab with hieroglyphics.

I don't know a whole lot, but I have seen a lot from a local collector though. All the fish hooks that I have seen were all ivory and actually look like some sort of fish thing.
I think the fishhook is more of a more modern ceremonial piece not intended for use. (Modern referring to possibly a few hundred years old)
The wood things i have seen that are very old don't look that nice of condition. Also most artifacts have broken bits on them as well.
