I didn't find a head. Maybe the head was soft or they did not have a head, just stems that made up the life form. I do not know much about them. Jim

that is the head and body...
the feathery appendages you see in pics are "mouthparts" and being soft tissue will be super rare to non-existant.

Nice. Trilobites are some of my favorite sea critters.

Nice! I have collected crinoid stem fossils over here in Scotland, not Trilobites though!

Check the creeks Jimi. A lot of the fossils have dissolved out of the limestone over many years and left the fossils behind, loose in the gravels.

Check the creeks Jimi. A lot of the fossils have dissolved out of the limestone over many years and left the fossils behind, loose in the gravels. Maybe we can meet up one day and go together! Me and wife used to go to NW GA and N. Alabama to collect 25 years ago. We continued to go to the Elk River over the years(near Decatur AL.) to find those wicked Elk River Spear points when they drop Lake Wheeler in fall. That place was probably the pinnacle of all treasures I have ever collected. You can google 'Elk River points' and see those things. They are famous for their diagonal flaking patterns and length: Then I started collecting coral down south on the coastal plain. And been stuck on that ever since. I spelunked in my teens around NW GA/NE AL and know there are a lot of fossils in the cave walls, slowly dissolving out. They would scratch your arms, protruding out of the limestone. But those caves have dissolved thru many layers of limestone. And the creeks that flow out of the caves wash troves of fossils out from all levels of limestone. But my memory of which caves is long gone. Case caverns in Cloudland, Sitton Caves are at least public lands. I do not know the rules on collecting in those areas these days. I know you are not to take anything out of caves. But the creeks that flow out should be fair game. Maybe in the summer a batch of coral hunters will be headed down south and you guys will go.

Great trilobite Jimi, and collected in the dark too! Tina asked to go back for more this Sunday and Dave told me that Mr Patty is really moving material off that bench. Maybe you and Tonya want to head our way for the day again.
