I wanted to share a few of my first cabs that I am not too embarrassed about. Unfortunately, my camera is junk and I wasn't able to capture the colors of the stone. I'm not sure what this stone is, it was found in a bag of landscape gravel, it's really hard and getting a smooth shape and polish was difficult. There is some pink color in the stone, it didn't show up well in the photo. This is a piece of Sodalite, I found this stuff is pretty soft and you can turn it into sand pretty quickly. I don't remember what this is called, has a nice shimmer and is very soft. Zoisite Another stone I found in a bag of landscape gravel. I have a bigger piece I haven't cut yet, this stuff is really hard, the colors remind me of a Koi fish. I'm going to have to work on getting better photos. Thanks for looking

Great start & welcome. Hard to tell from the photos, but the peachy colored, soft stone w/ a shimmer could be feldspar.

Thanks for the positive comments guys
Rich, you are right, it's Feldspar. Couldn't remember the name. Who knew there were so many names for rocks haha
I worked on trying to get better pictures tonight, but was not successful. I'm going to have to get a light box and better camera. Maybe I will try again this weekend if the sun decides to come out.

Beautiful cabs, luke, and hope you'll hang on to your machine and continue to produce beauties with it.

Nice cabs, & yes, the photos are much better. I especially like the first one (of the second set), what is it?

Rich I'm not sure what the stone is, I found it in a bag of landscape gravel, it's about the same hardness as agate. I've had good luck finding a number of nice stones in landscape gravel, I call it urban rock hounding. I believe the landscape gravel originates from Michigan, if that helps narrow down the identification.
