I just did some looking around on the web and it claims there could be a million people there?
Is there a specific area where people from this site usually try to concentrate as far as their camping spots?
I would prefer to camp near you folks as opposed to weirdos.

I'll be tent camping at Desert Gardens campground. If you're tenting, keep to the edges to avoid being run over by motorhomes Lee #1

But I think that count is spread out over the entire season, not just during the next few weeks. And keep in mind, Quartzsite is a good sized area, with folks camped all over the desert. We always camp in one of the two-week free BLM areas, there are at least four of those. Specificaaly, we go to Roadrunner, which is about five or six miles south of town on 95. Then there are several pay areas, these are generally closer to the action, also much more crowded. A lot of the Desert Garden vendors stay close by, most are camped right in their spaces.

Remember too, besides lapidary there is also a huge "antiques" show.
Checking for a room in Blythe.

There is a new motel in town called the Stagecoach, the old one burned down and they built a new one with an attached restaurant.
2 more weeks!

LOL yep we's nuts. Mark I'm camped at LaPosa west next to orrum The one legged cowboy. I'm not cheap like Jean and pay the $40 bucks for two weeks to get water and dumpsters and a free dump site. There's room here right now so we could fit some more folks in here and it doesn't seem to be getting much more crowded or I could move for a bit since my two weeks paid ends on the 17th.

Hey, it's not that I'm cheap (even though I am ), I just don't like the crowds in the pay areas. RVs parked next to each other like a parking lot, armpit to @sshole, lol! Don't care to hear the snores and farts of people I don't even know... Besides, $40 will buy me enough gas to go another 100 miles!

Well ok you got a point there Jean. You or anyone else gonna be here by the 17th so I won't be all by my lonesome if I move out there to the boonies?

Oops, sorry Tommy. I didn't name any names, lol! But I couldn't have been referring to you, 'cause I know you! (Oh wait, not like that, lol.)
drocknut, we'll be heading out Friday (1/16) morning. We stay in Roadrunner, almost all the way to the back (northwest) corner. Last year, we kinda got blocked in by RVs, so we just started coming in a different way. But still, they were at least 50 feet away from us. Can't say that about the pay areas. You don't pay $40 for two weeks, but the price you pay is that you have to drive six miles south from town. But still, better that having to drive all the way to Blythe to sleep, especially after imbibing at the BBQ .
I want to see my kangaroo rats again! Didn't get to see them last year, as we had to camp in a slightly different location.
Going through some info I had collected over the last couple years for rock hounding trips. Any ideas, Diane? I think we'll have to go to Brenda again, so much to see there. A bit farther west from there I found a nice moss agate log.

I am leaving after work on Monday. I am going to hound my way to Q. Then after a day or two I will keep on hounding. The truck is already mostly loaded. I should be there somewhere aroung the day of the BBQ which is my target date to be in Q.

I'm paid up here until the 17th but will probably make use of the dump station Friday and then head over to where you're going to be on Saturday afternoon. Be sure and leave the welcome mat out for me. No ideas on rockhounding locations as yet. Brenda does have lots of areas to check out. Wish we could find some place different to go but don't know of one just yet.

Diane, Big Red will there for a Brenda trip. I should be there about the 21st. I still laugh remembering the giggles during the last Brenda trip. Woody

At least a caravan of rock hammer-wielding rock enthusiasts doesn't turn any heads out in Brenda. Have any idea what time (AZ time!) Saturday afternoon you'll be heading that way? Not sure what we'll be doing at that exact moment, but you've got my cell number. I can also text you GPS coordinates once we are set up on Friday, and give some directions for getting in there.
